Nefes Pirzada has been keeping fish since she was 17 years old. What started out as one betta fish in her small college dorm turned into a full fledged fish room during medical school. When she is not studying, she looks after angelfish, loaches, killifish, plecos, gouramis, bettas, guppies, pea puffer fish, goldfish, and many more types of fish in her 13 tank-and-growing fish room. The fish bring her peace and calmness after stressful days. She recently built a koi pond and will be keeping koi in the coming season. Nefes is also an avid breeder of killifish, plecos, guppies, and shrimp.

Nefes is currently in medical school and hopes to continue keeping fish throughout her career. She is an active member of the NCAS as well as the Long Island Aquarium Society. And, she is the mother to three dogs, a cat, and a horse. If you have any questions about her fish, do not hesitate to reach out to her at nefesmpirzada@gmail.com.
